Art Omi’s 2026 winter camp requested Catie to facilitate workshops for children ages 5-10. Inspired by Wangechi Mutu’s Sentinels and her collaged hybrid female figures, Catie designed, Hybrid Guardians of the Fields and Subterranean Myths (The Sleeping Root); projects that allow one to visualize the invisible life force of the park hidden beneath the frost and the guardians that protect the sculptures during the winter.
